Golf World Reacts to Rare Resurfaced Photo of Tiger Woods and His Father From 1995

Playing golf tournaments all over the world is a dream of every golf professional. But to play in a big major championship event with your loved ones beside you is truly a special moment for the players. Moreover, Tiger Woods is among the few lucky ones to fulfill his desires. Recently, an old image of him with his father at a famous event resurfaced over social media.

The 15-time major championship winner’s image with his father, Earl Woods, came to light on Twitter. GolfDigest tweeted the duo’s image throughout their official Twitter account on May 26th, 2020. Moreover, in the photo, the young Tiger is hitting balls on the practice range at the 1995 Open Championship at the home of golf, St. Andrews. While the World Golf Hall of Fame member is hitting his balls, Earl is sitting behind him, wearing his headphones and closely looking at the 82-time PGA Tour winner’s golf swing.

Not to forget, the former World Number One made his first appearance at the particular major championship in the same year, 1995. As a result, it makes the old picture of him with his father even more special. GolfDigest made the tweet with a short caption, “Tiger and Earl. St. Andrews, 1995.”

Woods has played various regular PGA Tour and major championship events with his father beside him. The father and son duo shared a close bond and enjoyed their time on the golf course. As usual, as soon as the tweet came to light, the golf lovers on Twitter turned into a frenzy. Golf fans from every part of the globe started to react to Woods hitting balls at St. Andrews in 1995, with his father watching him. The majority of the fans loved the duo’s picture and commented about the five-time Masters champion’s golf swing. At the same time, other fans appreciated his father for recognizing his son’s immense talent.

When did Woods win his last Open Championship title?

The golf legend won his last British Open title in 2006. He won the major championship event at the tough and demanding Royal Liverpool Golf Club. Moreover, Woods ended the tournament with an overall score of 18-under-par. As a result, he won the event with a two-shot lead on Sunday. Tiger carded a final round of five-under-par, 67 to finish on the top of the leaderboard. His final round included one eagle and eight pars on the opening holes. As a result, he moved out in two-under-par, 33. The golf legend made four birdies and one bogey on the back nine to end his round.
