Justin Thomas reacts to viral moment from Canadian Open

The epic playoff between Nick Taylor and Tommy Fleetwood at the Canadian Open had everyone on the edge of their seats, including Justin Thomas. Minutes after Taylor emerged victorious, the 2-time major winner took to Twitter to laud the “goose bumps” raising finale.

Another memorable moment of the day that Thomas couldn’t help but tweet about was Canadian pro Adam Hadwin being hurled to the ground at Oakdale. Hadwin had earlier rushed out to the greens holding a bottle of champagne to celebrate his friend’s victory. The security, however, mistook him for a law-breaking fan and brutally tackled him to the ground.

Nick Taylor’s sensational win saw the biggest names in Canadian golf rush out to the greens with bottles of champagne to spray him. After all, the golfer had ended a 69-year-long drought for his country at the national championship.

Earlier, both Taylor and Tommy Fleetwood had tied at 17-under after 72 holes to sit atop the leaderboard. This led to a dramatic four-hole playoff which ended with the Canadian making a sensational 72-foot eagle putt to claim his 3rd win on the PGA Tour. The Winnipeg native took home the biggest chunk of the $9,000,000 prize purse, walking away with $1,620,000 in earnings. Meanwhile, Fleetwood took home $981,000 for his second-place finish.

After tying at the 12th spot, fellow Canadian Adam Hadwin pocketed $178,650 in winnings. Meanwhile, World No. 29 Corey Conners, who finished at T20, made $102,330 in earnings.
