St. Andrews has borne witness to some of the most iconic moments in golf in the past. In 1984, legend Seve Ballesteros burst out into his unforgettable triple fist pump celebration after beating Tom Watson to clinch the “claret jug.” Meanwhile, in 2004, the golf course served as the turf for a then 24-year-old Tiger Woods‘ career grand slam win.

Recently, another famous face turned up at the ‘Home of Golf,’ and it was none other than full-time pop star and golf enthusiast Harry Styles. As word of his presence spread, many flocked to the course to catch him in action!

He drew great cheers from the crowd as he made a tee shot. Like a true golf aficionado, the former One Direction star even played a shot off the famed Road Hole at St. Andrews!

As he tapped in on No. 18, Styles was even treated to thunderous applause from the spectators present at the course. He even did a fake golf ball toss like the true entertainer that he is!

It is not known what Harry, who is allegedly a 13–14 handicap, shot at the golf course, but his presence at the historic site brought out fans in hordes and delighted them unlike any other.

However, Styles isn’t the only 1D star who harbors a love for the sport. His former bandmate, Niall Horan, is an ardent golf fanatic as well!

Niall Horan’s passion for golf is unparalleled

“I am obviously a golf nut,” Ireland native Niall Horan confessed to Golfweek in 2019. In that interview, the singer even went on to say that he would have been a golfer if he wasn’t pursuing music. In fact, the golf enthusiast shares a great camaraderie with former World No. 1 Rory McIlroy. He even caddied for the 4-time major winner at the Masters and even shows up at Augusta every year to catch the biggest names in golf in action!

In 2016, Horan founded his very own golf management company called “Modest! Golf.” The venture is focused on boosting diversity in the sport, especially by inspiring women in the sport and young talents to achieve their full potential.

So, what about his skills? The 29-year-old reportedly has a handicap of 8. He has also often been seen playing at various pro-am events, including the BMW PGA Championship. Earlier this year, the musician even partnered up with golf equipment brand Callaway Golf, which also represents the likes of Jon Rahm, Xander Schauffele, and Sam Burns, among others.
