Ricky Romano has deep strings attached to golf, like most of the other caddies. The California-born looper made his collegiate debut by winning the C-USA Golfer of the Week award at the University of Houston in 2006 with a score as low as 67. He helped the Cougars to eight team titles during his junior season at the Division I level. Romano also competed as professional golfer for six years and in 2012 became the mastermind behind different golfers’ performances.

Talking about his most endearing memory as a caddie, he once said, “My greatest caddie memory would be the first tournament I caddied on tour. Northern Trust Open (Riviera) in 2012, Charlie Beljan and I were in the final group on Saturday and Sunday and eventually ended up finishing T11. The electricity and excitement that I felt from the crowd is indescribable.”

Romano has caddied for golfers such as Ben Crane, Jason Kokrak, Aaron Wise, Sung Kang, Charlie Beljan, Arjun Atwal and Nate Lashley before becoming a part of Fowler’s team. His strongest skills as a caddie are reading greens, decision-making and course management. Other than golf, Romano also likes to go fishing and surfing.
