‘I Just Watch Every Instructional Video’ – Jon Rahm Explains How He Improves His Golf Game
Jon Rahm is one of the biggest names in golf right now. The PGA Tour icon has been a fan favorite, impressing most with his game and technique. It goes without saying that the World No. 1 is the best at what he does for a reason. However, in a recent NLU Podcast appearance, Rahm spoke about instructional videos, and how he continues to watch them.
Rahmbo did speak about his conversation with Phil Mickelson, along with other things that have helped him grow. What Rahm has been watching, though, is a video with countless instructions. Let’s take a look at why Rahm remains interested in those videos.

Why does Jon Rahm still watch instructional videos?
When Rahm opened up about his habit, even the interviewer was stunned over the best in the world looking at instructions online. “Oh, yeah, I love it. I just love watching it,” he openly accepted when questioned, delighted to talk about something he enjoys.

Having listened to those words, one might wonder what help the 26-year-old, averaging 9.91 points, needs. But as is the case with the students of the game, for Rahm too, knowledge matters. “I think the one thing to learn is that, at least from what I also have, in my experiences, a lot of people, a lot of instructors are going to teach the exact same thing, the exact same mechanics just explaining in a completely different way”.
How does it help Rahm learn?
At the end of the day, an instructor can teach in many ways, and one can learn in many ways. Rahm even highlighted Butch Harmon, who has found success playing with different players, learning to teach their way.

“When you have one instructor that has one theory, or one way to teach, it’s only going to work for certain players, other players can either cannot do it, or they won’t understand what he’s trying to say. I think that’s where you learn a lot about a lot of things, right?”
He spoke about the bunker technique and explained how everyone focuses on different things. Rahm watched players carry out the technique in the video, sometimes watching it on mute. Because what one says and does, cannot match all the time. He did admit of being guilty of the same thing.
The Spanish golfer did discuss Mickelson, and how every player says something, feels something, and executes something else. Eventually, after talking to Mickelson and thinking, the former made him understand that he could also improve.
