He is always in the news for some or the other reason, sometimes for his choice of bold clothes, and sometimes for his statements, and this time for his self-revelation.

John Daly accepted the harsh realities of life

The 1991 US PGA Championship winner, John Daly, has been a great golfer. However, he believes sometimes people expect too much from him and put him on a very high pedestal. This leads to those people getting disappointed when their expectations are not met. This is not fair. It is life and we must accept it.

During an interview with Golf Digest, he said, “Well, everybody has problems and I’m a fighter. I’m a survivor and I’ll get through anything people can throw at me. I’ve done a lot of stupid things I take responsibility for but a lot of it came upon me.”

‘I Wasn’t Prepared Like Tiger Woods Was’: When John Daly Made a Humble Confession

He furthermore added, “It’s just life. We’ve got to live it and get through it.” Daly has been exceptional and we cannot forget all his trophies, including the Claret Jug, which he won. However, we cannot deny that life has been hard on him. He overcame whatever life threw at him.

On the eve of the Australian Masters at Huntingdale in 2008, he revealed his true feelings. He said that he was trying his best to get his golf game back. Everybody goes through difficulties and this was Daly’s low point where he was putting continuous efforts into standing up after suffering a fall.

He was not very fortunate with his life. He has a hard time separating from his wife and kids. And there was a time in his career where everything had a downfall because of his rib injury. But thankfully he got stem cell therapy, which allowed him to get back into the name and claim his place in the world of golf.

Despite of all the pain and controversy, Daly could win the hearts of golf lovers. Yes, he has had bad days, but we cannot forget when he made us proud. Indeed, he is a survivor who knows how to tackle things and make the best out of worst situations.
