If there’s one golfer making headlines beyond his performance on the course, it’s Jason Day. The 37-year-old has been the talk of the golf world for his bold outfit choices following his new sponsorship deal. After ending his eight-year partnership with Nike, Day teamed up with Malbon Golf—a streetwear brand known for blending modern and vintage styles. While his new and fresh look has sparked debate among fans and critics alike, Day remains steadfast in his decision. It is safe to say that despite Malbon Golf’s creative efforts, his outfits continue to be a hot topic of discussion.

Even recently at the Genesis Invitational, the golfer went off the grid as he wore a sweater for Saturday’s play. His outfit left the spectators and experts speechless. In addition and to no one’s surprise, it sparked outrage on social media too. Irrespective of the reaction, the golfer has been keeping his side strong with voicing out on his outfits.

During a recent interview with Beyond the Clubhouse, Jay Day was seen praising his newly partnered brand. When asked about the funniest comments he got for his outfits, Day shared the memory of Pebble Beach. He stated, “I felt like I stopped the whole range walking down there in sweats.” Despite the attire rules, the golfer was seen in sweatpants at the course, which might be the first and the last time. But for him, “it was nice to give it a shot.” For the unversed, CBS commentator and golf great Trevor Immelman had said, “Does he lose his luggage?”

But despite the criticism, he has been backing his preference with the streetwear brand for the course. Even during the interview, he expressed his preference saying, “Golf is so much better layered, I mean when you have layers on, when it’s a little bit cool, it looks better.” Well, but with the past instance of his layered clothing, the golfer hasn’t left his obsession behind. Earlier, at the Masters, he was asked to remove his sleeveless vest with over branding. Even the golfer did not argue and followed the rules as stated by the officials.

Even further, he went on to share about the style statements. He quoted, “When you have more layers, it’s like another piece.” For him who is a connoisseur of fashion, a 5 word message was cherry on the top: “It’s like an art piece.”

With the strong disagreement with most of the golf world, the PGA Tour professional is still firm on his side of the styling. Not just about his past, but with his upcoming bold look!

Jayson Day improvising on style

Jason Day has not just been accused by fans of his out-of-the-box fashion but was also asked to change it last year. During the Masters, as scripted by the Malbon team, the golfer was wearing a unique style white vest having Malbon Golf branding. But he was asked to remove his vest, and respectfully, he did. However, he has been showcasing a new look with each appearance at the course. Even with bringing back a visor, which wasn’t the preference for many now.

But with his constant change, he was asked about this year’s plan. For which he said, “We have to get clearance on the scripting this year.” If the clearance is required, then this is definitely not what the event guidelines suggest. Even the golfer himself is not sure if it will pass. But for the fact he shared that, it is “bold stuff,” that the team and golfer are planning for the Masters this year.
