However, the golf legend, instead of giving a final verdict, decided to provide the fans with a diplomatic answer.

Tiger Woods has a great relationship with both Basketball legends. Thanks to all three stars involved in a long-term contract with Nike, it has helped in making their relationship a lot stronger. Moreover, Michael Jordan is an avid amateur golfer himself. He has also appreciated Woods several times in the past. However, when it came to deciding between Jordan and LeBron, who did Tiger choose?

Tiger Woods answers the NBA G.O.A.T. question

Tiger joked by saying, “First of all when I was growing up, G.O.A.T. was a bad thing”. However, he then gave a breakdown of the debate from his point of view.

Woods said, “They’re both great in different ways, you know if I look at MJ, he was a prolific scorer and played defense like like no other, he’s always first team you know all defense”. Notably, Jordan did make it into the NBA All-Defensive First Team 9 times in his career. However, Woods then gave his thoughts on LeBron James.

MJ never really did that I mean he has Pip (Scottie Pippen) as a point forward”. Tiger emphasized Scottie Pippen’s contribution to Jordan’s success. Woods then talked about how both stars were very different from each other yet helped their respective teams with their talent and presence.

Tiger Woods also discussed one of the key factors in the NBA G.O.A.T. discussion; MJ has more NBA rings than LeBron. He said, “He (MJ) did in a different way than LeBron’s doing it”. Woods ends by saying, “ At the end of the day, they both win and they’re both guys we look at and say, you know it’s unbelievable what they’re doing and they’re changing the game”. 

So, who’s the NBA G.O.A.T.? It’s a never-ending question; both stars having considered the best of their generation. With LeBron, 37, his retirement days might be getting a lot closer. It is high time for fans to stop the unnecessary debate and appreciate both legends while they can. However, when it comes to the question of who’s the G.O.A.T. in golf, there isn’t much of a debate, is it?
