Rory McIlroy recently won the FedEx Cup for the third time and became the first player to do so. The golfer left behind Scottie Scheffler and Sungjae Im in the final round of the Tour Championship. And golf legend Tiger Woods took to Twitter to wish McIlroy and Scheffler for their performance on the field.

Woods is never left behind when it comes to appreciating someone for their good work. And similarly, the golfer recently tweeted his heartfelt congratulations to PGA Tour players Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler for their final round performance in the Tour Championship.

Rory McIlroy carded a four-under 66 at the end of the week and won the tournament. McIlroy received $18 million after winning the tournament for the third time after winning in 2016 and 2019.
How Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy are Actually ‘Growing the Game’
Woods’ fans also congratulated the golfers in the comments below his tweet. They loved the fact that Tiger Woods has the courtesy of taking time and appreciating the ones who deserve it. Some even mentioned their wish to see Woods alongside McIlroy in August next year.
Rory McIlroy’s warning to Woods
McIlroy has always had expectations for a bright future. And like every other golfer, he also had a goal of beating Tiger Woods one day. McIlroy’s uncle Brian once mentioned that the golfer won the 1998 Doral-Publix Junior Golf Classic and soon wrote down a warning letter for Woods.

According to Brian, the letter said, “I’m coming to get you. This is the beginning. Watch this space,” Even McIlroy confirmed this later and said, “A lot of those memories have kind of blurred together. But yeah, it went something like that.”
No one knew that a golfer who decided to warn Woods to beware of him in the future would receive an appreciation from him one day.

Woods and McIlroy, both have been loyal to the PGA Tour for a long time. There were rumors about McIlroy joining LIV Golf, but they didn’t stay for long. However, a lot of people still believe that there are chances that more players could flee to the LIV Golf league leaving the PGA Tour.
