Tiger Woods’ appearances on golf courses have become more frequent of late. With his latest show on camera, the expectations are rising further up on the scale. A video uploaded to TGR Live is going viral on Twitter. Woods looks freakishly fit in the video and his swing looks enthusiastic.

However, more than the swing, the 15-time major winner’s shoes took over the audience’s attention. His cold shoulder to Nike also comes to our mind when we see the shoes he is currently sporting. The mystery remains to date. 

What is with Tiger Woods’ current pair of shoes?

Well, apart from the fact that they are not Nike, nothing is unusual about his shoes at all. But this brings back a conversation that started last year. More than a year after his unfortunate accident, Tiger Woods returned to golf to play in the Masters 2022. And he returned with a new brand of shoes. 

Now, while there are theories and speculations about a potential tiff between Nike and Tiger Woods, there was also the consideration that maybe his health demanded the switch. Now, almost a year later, in a video that dropped online minutes ago, Woods is wearing FootJoy shoes again.

Woods has endorsed Nike for close to three decades. He has made at least $340 million from the deals he signed with Nike. There is more to this matter to discuss.

Let’s rewind to last year’s Masters. The whole golf world eagerly focused on his return, and a major change in his outfit attracted attention. He was no longer wearing Nike shoes. Tiger Woods was wearing ‘FootJoy’ shoes instead.

While people immediately sensed a conflict of interest in place, there were reasons to doubt that theory as well. On the one hand, Nike’s spokesperson praised Woods and iterated that they were eager to work with him again. And Tiger Woods had announced nothing on the issue either.

A brand switch because of a fresh design seems confusing too. Tiger Woods is one of the most popular ambassadors of the brand. It would seem natural that they would design any shoes he wants to wear.

Tiger Woods has experimented with many brands for clubs, but he has never messed with his footwear.
