Scottie Scheffler emphatically won the 2022 Masters. The 25-year-old professional four-putted on the last hole for a double bogey. Paige Spiranac threw some light on the same and compared Scheffler to probably golf’s most outstanding player Tiger Woods. However, it is not the comparison that Scottie would like to hear.

Paige Spiranac opens up on Scottie Scheffler’s hiccup at the Masters

Spiranac, a retired professional, recently spoke about Scheffler’s Masters win. Paige talked about Scottie’s hiccup on the final hole in her successful podcast Playing a Round With Paige Renee and her co-host Amanda Rose. She spoke about how the dismal four-putt double bogey on the 18th hole tainted Scheffler’s fantastic victory at Augusta National Golf Club.

Golf World Reacts to Former MLB Player’s Tweet About Paige Spiranac

While speaking about his Masters victory, Paige compared Scheffler with Tiger Woods in the latest episode of her podcast. She said, “The four-putt from Scottie shots. To me it almost it’s tainted the win in a way because it’s like that’s not something that Tiger Woods would do. And of course, it’s like every single time a young player starts to win a lot. They compare them to Tiger Woods. And again, that’s not something that Tiger would do.”

She added, “I can’t even imagine Tiger Woods four putting on the last green at Augusta. He would make the birdie putt and then Scotty shufflers like di*king around like missing tap-ins. And they’re like lipping out and he’s like kind of giggling. But at the same time, it’s like you’re missing tap-ins.”

However, in the end, Scheffler won by a comfortable three-shot cushion. He ended the event with an overall score of 10-under-par and won his maiden major championship event and first green jacket. It was Scheffler’s fourth win of the 2022 season.

What did Tiger Woods shoot in the final round on Sunday?

Woods made arguably the most remarkable comebacks at the 2022 Masters. The 46-year-old professional made a solid finish to his campaign at Augusta in the last round. He ended the event with an overall score of 13-over-par. As a result, Tiger finished in solo 47th position. Moreover, he carded a penultimate round of six-over-par, 78.

His final round of 78 featured one birdie and three bogeys on the front nine. In turn, he moved out in two-over-par, 38. Woods made two bogeys and a double bogey on the back nine on route to his finish at the 86th Masters. Not to forget, Tiger was playing his first official event since the 2020 Masters after suffering from a near-fatal car accident in which he injured his right leg.
