The United States Team defeated the International Team in the 2022 Presidents Cup with a final score of 17.5-12.5 in the ninth consecutive Presidents Cup victory for the United States. Now, the criteria for next year has been released and it is bad news for the defectors.
These are the main key points. Firstly the International Captain Mike Weir is going to use 6 picks which is more than the usual 4. All players from either side automatic qualifiers and captain’s picks must be eligible to compete in PGA TOUR-sanctioned competitions. Currently no LIV Golf stars are allowed.

More information will be revealed in the upcoming days. But for now, the people are not happy with this decision.
Fans not happy with LIV Golf’s absence in Ryder Cup
As it stands, the Saudi league’s strong set of players will miss on the event, which has left fans annoyed. Though some are agreeing as well. One fan used the opportunity to take a jibe on the merger scenario.
How’s that framework agreement going ?
Seems very creaky @ProGolfCritic— Andrew Kirby (@AndrewKirbyGolf) October 24, 2023
As for this final, the ultimate showdown among both the leagues will be the best thimg.
Truly an exhibition match. We need LIV vs PGAT match. Top 8. Everybody plays each round, 2 matches per day. Shotgun start. 4 hour rounds. Great TV.

This user severely criticised this decision of exclusion of the LIV Golfers and robbing the captain the chance to choose them.
Not allowing g the captains to pick LIV players if they see fit is a poor look. Prez Cup is already red headed step child to Ryder Cup & eliminating top International guys like Cam, Niemann, Munoz is just hurting the product even more.

For this fan, Cam Smith will be a big miss if the rule persists.
Imagine not wanting to have Cam Smith, Niemann, and Mito… even Munoz has been in great form recently!

There were some people who agreed with PGA Tour’s decision.
People…. the PGAT rules global golf. They rule because EVERY kid in the world dreams of playing in the US. How many times do you think Norman gets told NO because of his exhibitions before you all get it?

One fan feels that since it is a PGA Tour event other players should not play.
This makes complete sense. As opposed to RC, the President’s Cup is a PGAT event. Why would they include anyone else?
