Paige Spiranac expresses shock over the billion-dollar merger
After over a year of fierce fighting with LIV, PGA Tour chief Jay Monahan sat down with Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan on Tuesday to announce the coming together of the two rival factions. While the news of the merger has dismayed some, most are genuinely taken aback by the shocking turn of events, including Paige Spiranac.
Just hours after the announcement, the former pro-golfer appeared on her podcast to reveal her true feelings about the $3,000,000,000 merger. “The news just made me realize [that] none of us has any f***ing idea about what’s going on. I don’t know what’s going on. Golf media doesn’t know what’s going on,” shared the social media icon.
However, the internet sensation is interested in seeing how things turn out if the deal between the PGA Tour and the Saudi PIF gets finalized. “I’m just going to mind my business, see how this all plays out,” she said. “But it is… it is fascinating. It is truly fascinating.”
And although the golf beauty has claimed to wait and see how the merger pans out, it hasn’t stopped her from, backing world No. 3 Rory McIlroy, on his thoughts about the new merger.

Spiranac backs Rory McIlroy’s thoughts on PGA Tour-LIV merger
The decision to bring together the Saudi-backed LIV league and the PGA Tour has thrown many in the lurch, including 4-time major winner Rory McIlroy. He even opened up to the press about the surprising move ahead of the 2023 Canadian Open.

A PGA Tour loyalist, McIlroy has often spoken out against LIV over the past year. It, therefore, shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Irishman was left feeling like a “sacrificial lamb” following the announcement. While the golfer isn’t fully on terms with the merger, he isn’t perturbed by it either. “Again, removing myself from the situation, I see how this is better for the game of golf. There’s no denying that,” McIlroy shared, something that has been endorsed by Spiranac as well.
