LIV Golf has been receiving gigantic criticism from golf fans around the world ever since it was launched by Greg Norman. With high-paying deals and shorter schedule offers, the league managed to grab some of the best players from the PGA Tour to play in the Saudi circuit. And that certainly drew a line between pros and fans of the American League and LIV Golf.
However, amidst all the ongoing banter, golf legend Phil Mickelson has been extremely supportive of Norman’s league. Moreover, he was allegedly the first player to join the circuit and has been very vocal with his pro-LIV opinions. In fact, he recently opened up about being part of the breakaway league is helping golfers in winning major tournaments! Nonetheless, despite being involved in various squabbles, there is no stopping the golf ace from putting forward his opinions. And staying true to his outspoken personality, ‘Lefty’ recently made a tweet about how LIV Golf has been a boon for players in terms of playing major championships. It is not hidden that golfers, including Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau, showed an unimaginable skillset at the recent PGA Championship. In fact, LIV’s Koepka won the Championship. Not to mention, Mickelson himself shocked the world with his spectacular T2 finish at the Masters.
Love LIV or hate it, it’s the best way/Tour to be your best in the majors. Enough events to keep you sharp, fresh and ready, yet not be worn down from too many tournaments or obligations. 14 LIV events, 34 weeks left open to prepare for the 4 majors. Fact.

And so, these records have led the golf star to conclude how playing shorter LIV Golf schedules has helped him and his fellow golfers to “stay sharp, fresh and ready” for major tournaments. Talking about the matter, here’s what he wrote:

While others simply rooted for the PGA Tour and its long-form schedules, saying it was a dying tradition that created legends like Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, and many more. Some even highlighted how they love watching golf every weekend, which apparently LIV Golf won’t be able to help with!
Play less tournament golf to be sharp in the majors. Great “growing the game” strategy there, Phil. 🙄

Easy Phil, that’s 1 major win
— Jaymes (@Real_J_Eddy) May 23, 2023
What abort the fans? We love watching golf every weekend
— Jonas Aagaard (@jhaa92) May 23, 2023
Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, Ben Hogan and the rest say you’re welcome Phil. Because of them you got to cash out Phil. “Born on third guy”. #LIV

A fan was also unhappy about the rivalry between LIV and PGA.
Between the LIV and the PGA…professional golf will never be the same..it is ruined in terms of traditions..nothing but infighting and sparring through the media
