He’s the World No.1 for a reason! Who would have thought Scottie Scheffler, who was experiencing discomfort in his neck and placed at T6 after three rounds, would propel himself to the top with an awe-inspiring final day of golf? Well, that’s exactly what he did at THE PLAYERS Championship. What’s more, he was also able to rake in a winner’s cut from a whopping $25 million for the same.

Interestingly, the $4.5 million benefit that he managed to grab ahold of has reportedly helped him reach almost $11 million for the 2024 season of the PGA Tour. However, there’s more, it has also pushed him forward to break the circuit’s record for the total money earned in a single season for the third time, and that too consecutively!

A tweet was shared by Joe Pompliano recently on his X handle (formerly Twitter), pointing out the amount of money that the 27-year-old managed to garner over the past two years through his finishes. Adding on, he divulged how the golfer has “broken the PGA Tour’s single-season prize money record two years in a row.”

In 2022, the American Pro finished a total of 11 times inside the top-10 with four victories. This, in turn, helped him receive a total of $14,046,910 as prize money on the circuit, which was the most by any player till that year. Meanwhile, coming to 2023, he managed to outdo the Tour and its golfers yet again as he raked in a total of $21,014,342 with his 17 top-10 finishes, including 2 victories, all the while beating the prize money record again.

Well, the 1-time major champ, in 2024, had managed to earn a total of $6,439,500 from his five top-10 finishes, including the Arnold Palmer Invitational win. But now, with the $4.5 million prize money, his total would come to a figure of $10,939,500, with just six more months left to go in the season to beat his own record once again.

In the meantime, there’s one other person who would be greatly rewarded whenever Scheffler finishes inside the top 10 or as a champion. Yes, we are talking about his caddie, Ted Scott, who has dished out his support for the golfer many times on the course.

How much does Scheffler pay Ted Scott?

Usually, a caddie on the PGA Tour, as per the pay scale, receives 10% of the athlete’s cut if he wins while earning 7% for a top-10 finish and 5% for the rest. As a result of the same, in 2023, depending on the specified rate, Scott managed to take home at least $1.8 million from the $21 million that the 27-year-old earned, if not more.

However, from 2022 until the month of April, the 8-time PGA Tour champ had won a total of four events, all the while being awarded a prize money of $9 million. Out of this, the looper was able to take home an amount of $900,000. Well, it seems the two have emerged as one of the most successful caddie-golfer duos of the current generation. Intriguingly, with 6 more months left in the 2024 season, one can only imagine how much more the current No. 1 might be able to rake in!
