PGA Tour News: Anthony Kim Confirmed to Be Eligible to Play in Events, As Per Reports

After being away from professional golf for over a decade, Anthony Kim has once again made the headlines. The 38-year-old has not even set foot on a golf course but has still managed to stir the rumor pot. The first news about him after a decade was regarding his decision to join LIV Golf.
However, the rumors soon turned out to be fake as the American golfer was not looking to join Greg Norman’s squad. With the rival league losing out on poaching Kim, the PGA Tour has spoken. And it looks like they are laying down the red carpet for Kim’s return.
After his decade-long absence from the greens, the American golfer is weighing his options to return. According to reports, Anthony Kim has been in talks with both the PGA Tour and LIV Golf for his return. Furthermore, he has also been practicing his shots in recent months.

But it looks like the scales are tipping in favor of the PGA Tour. With recent reports stating Kim will not join the Saudi-backed league, playing in the traditional league has its perks. By winning three PGA Tour events in the past, he qualifies for some minor events on the US circuit this season via the ‘Past Champion’ exemption category.
Furthermore, PGA Tour sources have told bunkered.co.uk that they will welcome the disappeared pro player with open arms if he decides to return.

“I can confirm he would be eligible for some events via the Past Champion category and of course, he would be a hot commodity for sponsor exemptions. There’s no reason why we wouldn’t welcome him back if that’s what he wants to do,” the source said.
