Tiger Woods Believes Competing at the 2022 Masters is Equivalent of a Victory to Him

Tiger Woods is happy; Happy that he gets to play again, he gets to experience the joy of being on the course again. For a person who has battled with life and death, Woods thinks that he is winning already since he is doing what he loves the most.  

“Yes,” Woods said as a reporter asked him if he considers showing up and playing at the Masters as a win for him.

“If you would have seen how my leg looked to where is it now,” he said to the reporters. The golfer had a smirk on his face while saying this since he knew even being able to walk was not on the table a year ago. 

“They’ve seen pictures,” Woods added. “They’ve come over to the house, and they’ve seen it.” The 15-time major winner explained that some of the golfers know what he went through as they have seen the pictures of his injured leg.

“To get from there to here,” Woods further added. “It was no easy task.” 

Woods has made a comeback at the Masters Tournament after a year-long break. The car crash of February 2021 had left him with severely injured legs. According to his first-ever interview after the accident, the doctors had even considered amputating his leg.

However, thankfully, the golfer recovered quickly with the help of physiotherapists and doctors. And finally, after a year, Woods got to be able to play at his favorite golf course again. Hence, he considers it a win on his part. 

Tiger Woods believes he can win another Green Jacket!

“I do,” Woods answered at the press conference ahead of the Masters when a reporter asked whether or not he would win this time. He explained that he would be fine with hitting shots.

However, walking at the Augusta National is what concerns him the most. “It’s a tough challenge,” Woods further added. “A challenge I’m up for.” 

True to his words, the golfer displayed an incredible show in the first round of the Masters this Thursday. Woods had an exciting round in his comeback tournament with a couple of birdies and bogeys.

It is no secret that Woods is a passionate golfer. He values the sport as much as his life. That is why he made a comeback even after going through such a terrible accident.
