Tiger Woods’ swing and a miss in golf

The first record that Woods hasn’t been able to achieve to date is of consecutive birdies. Making consecutive birdies during a PGA Tour tournament is not easy. The courses selected by the league for their event present many hardships. Despite that, there are a few names who have managed to deliver regular birdies.

The top number of consecutive birdies was attained by Mark Calcavecchia at the Canadian Open in 2009. Kevin Chappell (USA) had the same score of birdies in the second round of A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier in 2019. Next is again in 2019 by James Nitties at the ISPS Handa Vic Open. And the latest name to join this list is Matt Wallace, who achieved the feat this week at the DP World Tour Championship 2023. But Woods is yet to be added to the list.

He wrapped that round with 12 under and was the only golfer to break par that day. However, this brilliant win could not take him closer to the record for the largest margin, which is 16. It is held by Bobby Locke, Sam Snead, Joe Kirkwood, Sr., and J. Douglas Edgar.

Tiger has not garnered the most wins in a season. This record was officially held by Byron Nelson in 1945. That year, he won 18 times, which was 11 in a row. Though Tiger has tried his best, he hasn’t been able to come close. He won nine times in 2000 and his longest winning streak is seven.

Most Top 10 finishes and hole-in-one

Tiger Woods’ phenomenal wins have contributed immensely to making him a rich player over the years. These include his Top 10 finishes. In his career, the GOAT golfer has made 199 Top-10s, 31 second-place finishes, and 19 times on the third spot. The record for the most number of Top 10 finishes within a season is not held by him, though. It was achieved by Tom Kite in 1981. As for Woods, he made 17 in 2000.

The last is a hole-in-one, which is the trickiest. Former US President Donald Trump has admitted to making seven holes-in-one in his amateur career. But surprisingly for the professional golfer Tiger Woods, he has made only three holes-in-one. The first was at the Greater Milwaukee Open in 1996, the second was at the Phoenix Open in 1997, and the third was at the Sprint International in 1998. Anyway, there is still time and Woods could earn them all, once he gets back to his game.
