The last time Jordan Spieth won on the course was in 2022 at the RBC Heritage. A player of stature, being winless for so long, may become his unusual self, like Brooks Koepka did, or even start throwing tantrums, but not Spieth. He has always been a fan favorite for his charisma and philanthropy. Just days after his foundation’s gala, featuring big names, he is now back, supporting upcoming golfers.

“Hey guys, Jordan Spieth here, and if you’re a competitive junior golfer age 6 to 18, you’ve got to check out the Under Armour Junior Tour New Year’s Championship at Innisbrook. You get to play one of the courses that we play on the PGA Tour. It’s a fun week of events for players and their families. The putting contest, the team championships, and the New Year’s Eve celebration, with a whole lot more. Don’t miss it. It’s one of the best ways to start a new year and enjoy the game,” said Jordan in an Instagram video, wearing a white shirt.

Spieth is the strategic partner and investor in the National Junior Tour Powered by Under Armour, which reaches over 7,500 young athletes across 40 states. Since joining forces with the tour in mid-2025, he has taken an unusually active role by visiting events, mentorship, and whatnot.

The video, accompanied by various photos of young kids from the tournament, was shared in part by Spieth’s Family Foundation and the official page of the Junior Tour. In a span of a few hours, thousands of likes racked up (almost 4k) with multiple comments lauding Spieth for this gesture. The reason for such a massive engagement could be Spieth and the event’s importance.

The Under Armour Junior Tour New Year’s Championship is one of the most prestigious youth events on the American golf calendar. Set to run from December 30th to January 4th, it will bring 240 junior golfers, both boys and girls, who will be split into eight divisions by age and gender.

The Innisbrook Resort in Florida is home to the PGA Tour’s Valspar Championship. This is the same course that has seen marquee players lift their trophies, including Spieth himself back in 2015. Moreover, the challenging terrain is another intriguing element that will expose these young talents to a PGA-level hardship.

The Copperhead Course, where the Valspar is played, is ranked among the top 10 toughest PGA Tour layouts. It has a 7,209-yard par-71 and is known for its closing gauntlet, the Snake Pit. All of these will mirror the pro environment for the youth, who will just have to pay $495 to get two championship rounds on those courses.

‘Class’ act by Jordan Spieth gets lauded by fans

“Class act, Jordan,” wrote a fan. At the same time, another user commented, “Great foundation! Jordan, you rock.”

Spieth’s foundation – the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation (JSFF) is a philanthropic organization that collects and provides financial assistance to special needs youth, junior golf, military support, and pediatric cancer. His foundation has successfully distributed more than $10 million in grants to those in need.

Even for this event, the JSFF will cover multiple costs through a series of scholarships. These will include entry fees, travel fees, and equipment for those young talents who have the calibre but lack the financial means to compete. This hasn’t gone unnoticed.

“Always the best foundation in our country is the JSFF !” wrote one Spieth fan.

“Thank you for what you and your foundation do. So positively important in today’s youth culture,” wrote another.

“The future of the game is lookin’ bright,” wrote another elated fan, summing it all up perfectly well.

For Spieth, these actions are just part of a full-circle moment. He, too, once benefited a lot from his junior golf days. So it is only fair if he now lends a helping hand if he possesses that calibre. In fact, this is not the first time he’ll be generously doing this. Only a few months ago, he personally donated money to this event.

“My junior golf experience was fundamental not only to my development as a golfer but as a person,” he said back then. “I’m excited to help kids find those same lessons through competition.”

Keeping this in mind, he also announced his next big step – the Jordan Spieth Invitational, a flagship event which will be debuting in 2026 under the Under Armour Junior Tour banner.
