The competition was getting fierce, and at the moment, Sergio made a negative comment about Woods, which did not turn out to be good. After the statement in 2013, Woods attended a press conference on the PGA Tour. One reporter asked him if he would call Sergio one day and ask him to finish this feud. In 2013, Sergio was asked about Woods during the European Tour’s gala players’ awards dinner. According to the Guardian, the interviewer asked him if he would have Woods for dinner during the upcoming US Open. They considered his reply as racist. Sergio said, “We will have him round every night. We will serve fried chicken.” Even though the comment was in jest, they did not accept it in a good way.
