Johnny Miller and Tom Watson are two such golf icons, who have their own special place in PGA Tour history. In a recent tweet, Golf Digest pit Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas against two other legends.

It was a ‘what if’ situation, where one can discuss endless possibilities. They referred to it as an ‘All-Time Match Up’, while wondering who might win the encounter.

Of course, fans had their own opinion on who would secure the victory.

By the looks of it, Justin Thomas had his own take about the said match-up. “I mean… I might be slightly biased,” he wrote, while also tagging his fellow PGA Tour icon. His response sparked a whole new debate in the replies.

“Pfft have you ever shot 63 at Oakmont?” wrote a fan under Thomas’ tweet. “You know Johnny Miller shot 63 at Oakmont”. The user’s tweet is a likely reference to the 1973 US Open, which took place at the Oakmont Country Club. Miller shot 63 in his final round to win his first major title.

Miller – who won 25 PGA Tour titles in his career – started playing professionally in 1969. With two major titles to his name, one cannot argue that the game is indeed different today. Watson, on his end, won 39 PGA Tour titles including his eight major titles.
