The matter of LIV having the right to be part of the Official golf world ranking is taking a new turn every day. Spanish golfer, Jon Rahm, presented his point of view recently. The last event of the Saudi-backed circuit of 2022 ended in Miami. Since then, they have been preparing for the following year’s events. According to reports, the 2023 events will be bigger and better. They will hold the first event in Australia, as announced earlier this week by CEO, Greg Norman.

He also mentioned how he has been trying hard to convince PGA to sit together and sort out the rivalry. Besides finding a broadcaster for next year’s event, Norman has also been trying to get his players on the world ranking list. However, developments are yet to be made there. They are still determining if they will be part of the world ranking, but Rahm has his take.

What does Jon Rahm believe about LIV?

During the press conference for the DP world tour, the Spanish golfer talked about the possibilities of LIV. In Jumeirah Golf Estates, a reporter asked Rahm’s opinion on the world ranking of LIV players. He said many people are against LIV for becoming part of the ranking. However, he was not against it but believed certain adjustments would fit the scenario. He said“I think a lot of people are against them having World Ranking points. I’m not necessarily against it, but there should be adjustments.”

He also appealed to everyone not to give publicity to the Saudi-backed circuit. They never asked for it, and we have involved ourselves too much. He said, “We need to stop giving LIV the publicity. They are not asking for it. That’s the first thing I’m going to say.” He explained the adjustments that can be done according to him.

According to the former no.1, if the requirement demands World Ranking points as 72 holes and a cut, then specific changes can be helpful. PGA members suggested awarding LIV players less than 100% points as they do not fulfill the world ranking eligibility criteria.

Did Rahm appreciate LIV golfers?

The recent comments by the Memorial Tournament winner proved that he does not hold any hate for LIV or its players. After suggesting the adjustments, he said that LIV has some skilled players on tour. Not accepting that Dustin Johnson played terrific this year, would be a shame.

Therefore, LIV being part of the world ranking will be all right. However, the process will take a few years. Rahm suggested the LIV Golf tour to be patient with the process, like all other circuits.
