The irons and wedges used by Tiger Woods for winning his Slams are not up for auction! The shocking revelation came just after a day the auction news was reported. 

“Tiger has the authentic set of the Slam irons in his house.” Woods’ agent Mark Steinberg stated after the ‘Golden Age Golf Auctions’ listed the same under their website for auction. The agent revealed the shocking news to Dan Rapaport of Golf Digest. 

Steinberg explained that Tiger cherishes the memory of winning the Tiger Slam and claimed that he would not give away the irons and wedges that helped him win it.

Woods had won the Tiger Slam from 2000 to 2001. He is the first and only golfer to achieve this feat, and thus the record is named after him. 

What does the auctioneer have to say about the statement of the agent of Tiger Woods? 

“This is what we do. And this is my livelihood.” Ryan Carey, the founder of Golden Age Golf Auctions, responded after Woods’ agent stated that the irons on auction are not the legit ones. He further explained that he only put any items for auction if he is fully confident in their legitimacy.

According to Carey, he has the signed affidavit from two executives of the Titleist brand to prove the authenticity of the clubs. Furthermore, they also claim to have taken a polygraph test of one of the executives, in which he had passed. 

To prove how confident are they that the clubs on auctions are authentic, Carey even called out to the golfer to show his clubs if they are still in his collection.

It has been just a couple of days since the Golden Age website had put the Slam-winning clubs for auction. The website had set the opening bid to $25,000. The auction is set to end on April 9th. As of today, the bidding has already become double the opening bid.
