Tiger Woods Once Broke The Hearts of Various Young Golf Fans

Tiger Woods is admired by almost every golf fan around the world. Some love him for his accomplishments in the game, while others love him for his calm personality. However, back in 2018, Woods made a cruel move which upset many of his fans.

Tiger Woods has shared his love for his fans several times in the past. The fans, in return, have reciprocated their love for the 46-year-old. Whether it was his car accidents or personal life tragedies, his fans have always stood by his side.

However, during the 2018 Open Championship, a video emerged where Woods was seen ignoring young fans for autographs. His manner was later widely criticized by many fans.

Tiger Woods ignores kids

In 2018, Woods was still a 14-time Major champion. The golfing legend hadn’t won a Major for nearly a decade. So each time he had a bad round at a Major, even if it was a practice session, Woods could not contain his frustration.

At the time, Woods had undergone three back surgeries and was looking to get back in form, just like his prime days. After completing a practice round at the Carnoustie Golf course, the then 42-year-old was seen leaving the session irritated.

As Woods was heading away, a group of young fans eagerly waiting to get an autograph of the golfer were ignored by him and slowly pushed away. The video went viral and Woods received massive public backlash for it.

It is quite evident that when a person has a bad day, they feel pretty annoyed, even if the person is Tiger Woods. Nonetheless, it isn’t very hard for the Hall of Famer to win the hearts of his fans back.

Earlier this year, after playing in The Masters, his first Major since the car accident, Tiger Woods thanked the fans for their support. The 15-time Major champion expressed his gratitude on social media by posting a photo along with a message.

Woods wrote, “I didn’t play my best out there, but just to have the support and appreciation from all the fans, I don’t think words can describe that.” The fans have always been the backbone of Tiger Woods.

Since Woods played a major role in helping the sport expand overseas, it is evident to see him receive the love back from the fans. Woods is currently competing at 150th The Open. Will he be able to make the cut at St. Andrews?
