After his divorce from Elin Nordegren, Tiger Woods was in a relationship with the legendary skier Lindsey Vonn. As America’s favorite athletes, the two looked ideal for each other and believed the same. That is why their breakup affected both, especially the golfer. 

“It obviously does affect me,” Woods said at the press meet at the 2015 Players Championship. The couple announced their breakup on Sunday, before the tournament. “It is tough,” he added. “…I’m not gonna lie about that. it is tough.” 

According to reports, the 3-time Olympic medalist and the 15-time major winner met each other during a charity event in 2012. They were the most celebrated couple in America at the time because of their popularity. Like most celebrities, although the two cared for each other, they had to break up because of their hectic lives. 

The breakup surprised everyone, as Vonn had accompanied Woods and his children at the Par-3 Contest at the Augusta National. However, there was no other solution, as the two never had time for each other. 

The breakup felt hard for Tiger Woods because of another reason! 

Vonn announced their break up on May 4, the day after Woods’ father had died in 2006. “This time of the year is really really hard on me,” the 82-time PGA Tour champion said in the press meet. 

Woods explained that he couldn’t sleep all three days from May 3 to May 5 because of his breakup and his father’s memories. “It’s just brutal on me,” he added. “and then was with obviously on what happened on Sunday, it just adds to it.”

The golfer officially revealed his girlfriend to everyone during the 2017 Presidents Cup. Since then, she has been accompanying Woods in his tournaments. According to reports, the 46-year-old has proposed to his girlfriend, and they are planning to get married this summer.
