The legendary golfer, Tiger Woods, is credited with making golf a popular sport. Moreover, Woods, with his incredible golfing skills, changed the perspective regarding this sport. Furthermore, thanks to Tiger Woods’ popularity, golf has become wealthier and is among the most popular sports in the world.

Tthe legendary golfer has won 82 PGA Tour events and 15 major championships. But Woods’ contribution to golf is far more than we can imagine. However, the golfer has had quite a fascinating life off the field, and once, he used the name of a famous Hollywood actor, Will Smith.

Tiger Woods once used Will Smith’s name 

Tiger Woods is well-known for keeping his personal life private. He is not a social media geek like Phil Mickelson or others who post updates on their social media platforms. Therefore, in one of the most hilarious incidents, Tiger Woods once names himself William Smith.

Just a day after Thanksgiving, Tiger was admitted to Health Central Hospital. However, it was not under his name but under an alias, William Smith. He used the alias name of one of the biggest stars in Hollywood to probably remain undercover. He did not want the news of his admission to a hospital to make the rounds.

Therefore, he probably gave a false name. But the exact reason for doing so is not known. Meanwhile, we all know his real name is Eldrick Tont Woods. However, he is rarely referred to or known by this name.

Moreover, Tiger recently competed at the 150th Open Championship at the iconic St. Andrews. However, because of injuries and rustiness, he could not get into the rhythm and eventually missed the cut. He had one of his most disappointing rounds at the Open as he carded a +9 for the event.

Nevertheless, Woods received a standing ovation from the crowd at the final hole on Friday. Hence, this shows the contribution and respect he has gained among fans. Meanwhile, even though he is not retiring from professional golf, we won’t be seeing him compete for at least the next few months.

Looking at his past record, we might see him teeing off at the Hero World Challenge or probably at the PNC Championship with his son Charlie.
