It is a rare occurrence that a well-established sports league comes under fire from fans due to spelling mistakes. But that unfortunately happened with LIV Golf. The Saudi-backed league sent out a press release on January 30, announcing Jon Rahm’s new team. However, they spelled the team name wrong – writing ‘Legion XII’ in place of Legion XIII.

Now the graphic release for the full season rosters of 2024 has come under fire from fans. While the names of all pre-established teams along with the players’ names were spelled correctly, Rahm’s team was once again left dry.

Specifically, the name of the team captain was spelled incorrectly! Instead of writing Jon Rahm, a new name was given to Legion XIII skipper – John Rahm.

However, this humble mistake has triggered hilarious reactions from fans online. While some took shots at LIV Golf, some sympathized with the people who made these mistakes.

Fans poke fun at the expense of LIV Golf’s mistake

All eyes of the fans are on the latest big signing of LIV Golf, Jon Rahm. Naturally, the fans will pick up the mistakes made for the same. And it was truly unfortunate that the mistakes happened twice from LIV Golf’s end. So a fan tried to defend this mistake.

Another fan supported this by stating the team names and player names can be hard to remember sometimes.

However, the majority of fans had something else in mind. A fan poked fun at the fact that the Saudi-backed league made mistakes twice for their star signing.

Another fan pointed out this mistake would not have occurred if the people making those posts loved the game.
