Tiger Woods is all set to take part in the 150th anniversary of The Open Championship. Ahead of the Major, all former Open Champions are currently competing in the R&A Celebration of Champions event, including Woods. But during the practice rounds on Sunday, Tiger Woods reminded Justin Thomas that he was uninvited to the event.

The Celebration of Champions is a tournament organized to celebrate with the winners of the Open Championship over the years. Tiger Woods will partner with Rory McIlroy, Lee Trevino, and Georgia Hall at St. Andrews.

Unfortunately, Justin Thomas hasn’t won the British Major, which means he won’t be participating in the tournament. In a recent video of the practice rounds, Tiger Woods took a jab at the 2022 PGA Championship winner.

Both the stars have a great friendship, which they have displayed publicly for several years. While practicing on Sunday, Woods comically told Thomas he will meet him tomorrow at the Celebration of Champions event.

Thomas’ annoyance can be seen in the video as he gives Woods a disgusted look while slowly walking away. However, since both the stars have a great friendship, it is very common for the golfing duo to go back and forth while passing some humorous comments to each other.

Woods and Thomas’ friendship

Justin Thomas was only four years old when Tiger Woods won his first major, the 1997 Masters. However, over the past few years, they have developed an incredibly close connection. During last year’s PNC Championship, Woods even commented on their relationship.

The 15-time Major Champion said, “We have become so close that I think Charlie’s like Justin’s little brother he never had, and Justin has become the little brother I never had. We are extremely close with the family and we do a lot of things together, and to be able to have that experience tomorrow again.”

He further added, “You know, we don’t want them wearing that belt again, so we are going to give it our best. Christmas dinner wasn’t quite as pleasurable last year as it hopefully will be this year.” It is great to see both PGA stars having a healthy relationship.
