Harrington is known for his distinct style and wit. The pro golfer recently explained why top players love LIV Golf’s format of having fewer players on board.

This is in consideration of a much larger pool of players by the PGA Tour. This, according to Harrington, requires much more effort and hard work, than it does for the players playing with a smaller pool.

Harrington said, “That’s the beauty of a small pool [of players]. You see it with the likes of LIV. There are only 48 players. The top players know they are going to be in contention more. The hardest thing about the PGA Tour, which is really what’s hard, is it’s 156 players and they’re damn good.”

He continued, “The guy who is average is damn good. And in many ways, when you hear that comment by the LIV players saying ‘oh, we don’t want to play so much.’ They’re saying that we don’t want the other guys to play so much because we can’t beat them.”

He also explained why majors are actually easier to win and why he believes he has at least one, if not two, more major-league runs in him.

All in all, the conversation Harrington engaged in was interesting to listen to by both fans and players.
