LIV Golf signed Phil Mickelson recently to play in its Invitational Series for $200 million. Notably, it is just an appearance payment, and if he wins at least one of the tournaments, he will bag more millions as prize money. However, will this new deal worth millions make him richer than the current wealthiest golfer, Tiger Woods?

Golf Channel’s Brentley Romine revealed the deal between Mickelson and LIV Golf. According to reports, the golfer signed the contract last Saturday for approximately $200 million and will play at the inaugural event of the Series in London.

On top of the $200 million, Mickelson will receive $4 million for winning each of the 7 individual tournaments alone. If he wins all the events, Lefty is in for a fortune as he will bag $32 million from the LIV Golf Invitational Series.

Mickelson has been playing professional golf for the last 30 years. He has won 56 championship titles, including 6 majors. As a veteran of the sport and one of the best in the business, he has earned millions from winning tournaments and endorsement deals already.

Has Phil Mickelson Ever Been Ranked World #1 in Golf?

According to the Wealthy Genius website, Mickelson has a net worth of $400 million in 2022. However, with his new contract with the LIV Golf, if he wins all the events of the Series, his net worth will shoot up to approximately $700 million.

What is the net worth of Tiger Woods in 2022, and is he still richer than Phil Mickelson?

The sudden rise in Mickelson’s net worth is impressive. However, according to Celebrity Net Worth, Tiger Woods has a net worth of $800 million in 2022. Therefore, Mickelson will still fall a little short of Woods in terms of career earnings, even if he does the unthinkable and wins it all.

Mickelson and Woods are two of the best golfers of all time. However, with his wins and endorsement deals, Woods has always beat Mickelson in terms of career earnings. While Lefty will likely see an enormous growth in his bank balance after the LIV Golf Series, it won’t be enough to beat the 15-time major winner.
