As the 2024 golf season is starting, many players are looking to revamp their brand image. Unfortunately, this has led to many top-tier brands losing players in the upcoming season. The most recent example is Jason Day leaving Nike after 7 years. Now it looks like Xander Schauffele has parted ways with Adidas.

The 30-year-old has been donning the three stripes since 2015. If the rumors are true, he would be ending a nine-year-long partnership with Adidas. But let’s look into the facts and find out why the American golfer left Adidas. Or are they just baseless rumors?

Recently, Schauffele’s picture went viral on the internet, which shook the golf world in its entirety. While preparing for The Sentry 2024, Schauffele hosted a driving range clinic for the juniors present at the Kapalua Bay Course. But in one of the pictures with a junior, the 30-year-old was not wearing his Adidas merch.

Instead, he was wearing a polo shirt from a Japanese brand, Descente. Furthermore, what grabbed the netizens’ attention was that the PGAT pro was wearing the Descente tee shirt inside the Kapalua clubhouse. This discovery led to an uproar on the internet, with many fans thinking the seven-time PGA Tour winner had dropped the three stripes.

But fans should take this information with a grain of salt, as there is no official confirmation about it. Adidas still lists Xander Schauffele as one of its athletes. On the other hand, the website of Descente lists only Danny Willett and Danielle Kang as their official ambassadors, both of them playing on the DP World Tour and LPGA Tour, respectively.

But if the rumors are true, the Japanese brand has acquired a big name from the PGA Tour. However, the American golfer won’t be the only one leaving his brand partner in 2024.

While Xander Schauffele is still rumored to be switching deals, many pros have already left their previous partners. Jason Day, who is now a former Nike ambassador, left the brand for Malbon Golf. With this move, the PGA Tour pro ended his six-year deal with Nike.
