Thirteen-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal is the most successful player to ever grace the courts of Roland Garros. The Monte Carlo Masters (11 times), Barcelona Open (11 times), and the Rome Masters (9 times) are some of these events.
Not long ago, Rafa praised Novak Djokovic for being successful in every tournament he plays. The Serb is one of the great forces in the game and in recent years cemented his place amongst the greats. Speaking about the Serbian ace, Rafa stated, “He’s very successful normally everywhere. Of course, for some reason, you find a tournament that is more favorable to you, have better feelings. When you start winning and winning together in one place you’re self-confidence is increasing and when you’re coming back there you feel always a good vibe.”
Once a player earns success at a particular event, it gives them the confidence and self-belief to reach similar heights in the next season too. Rafael Nadal’s thirteen titles at Roland Garros, Novak Djokovic’s eight titles at the Australian Open, and Roger Federer’s eight titles at Wimbledon are clear examples highlighting that aspect.
