He also visited former F1 driver Romain Grosjean who found himself on the podium after the race. In an interview, Albon revealed some of the advice Grosjean gave him for his future.
Alex said, “Speaking to Romain just now, the first thing he said is ‘you need to go straight to the gym’ because the cars are much heavier than F1 steering-wise.”

“Formula 1 is still the goal,” for Albon, but with prospects being relatively dry in the sport, will he shift lanes?
Alex Albon keeping his options open
Albon seemed to enjoy his visit to IndyCar and kept conversations open with the teams there. Albon explains the practical side to his job-hunting. “My main goal is to be in F1, but there’s never a 100 percent certainty on that, so you got to have Plan B and C to see what else is out there.”
Albon seemingly had his eye out for Indy as he said, “I’ve always had that interest within INDYCAR. You see it on the rise now, especially with the viewership and everything going up.”

Nonetheless, Grosjean continues to hold the torch for F1 drivers in Indycar. Albon looks up to the driver, saying, “Seeing Romain, as well, seeing what he’s doing, it’s been really interesting to see.” He even discussed the possibilities with Grosjean. “I just wanted to see what he thinks about it. Is he happy? Of course, he’s happy. He’s always got a smile on his face. How was that transition for him, and how did he feel in INDYCAR straight away? He looks very comfortable here.”

However, Albon isn’t deciding on anything yet. “Let’s say the lack of opportunity is there in F1, and there’s an opportunity here that’s a good opportunity with a good team, and if in these next few days I think it’s something I would enjoy, obviously then the odds (of racing INDYCAR in 2022) go up.”
