Brandon Moreno recently lost his most precious flyweight belt. The Mexican fighter locked horns with his old rival, Alexandre Pantoja, at UFC 290 on July 8. The bout between the two was a highly close affair, and some of the fans even believe that Moreno was robbed of victory. After a five-round back-and-forth battle, two judges scored in favor of Pantoja, 48-47. However, the third judge, Ben Cartlidge, felt that it was ‘The Assassin Baby’ who fought better and gave him the score of 49-46. Nonetheless, the day was not in favor of Moreno.
It was the third time Moreno and Pantoja had come face-to-face. First, they clashed in the 24th season of The Ultimate Fighter, and later they squared off at UFC Fight Night 129. In both previous bouts, it was Pantoja who won the bout. The outcome of the latest fight was no different. Even though the first-ever Mexican UFC champion lost the fight, he was able to attract a lot of attention. After watching the electrifying bout between the two, the UFC president, Dana White, wanted an immediate rematch between the rivals. Now, Moreno has come forward to update his fans about his current status.
