Dana White, in a post-fight press conference, once again discussed the differences between a small cage and a big cage and said it doesn’t make a difference.
Most of us are now aware that the UFC typically have two cage sizes to conduct their fights. Quite obviously, the size of the cage has an impact on the fight. It affects the proximity between the fighters, the distance they have to evade or land a strike and also plays a role in the stamina a player has throughout the fight.
The UFC Apex in Las Vegas is home to the small cage. To make clear the difference in size, the big cage is 20% wider and 44% larger than the one in the Apex. And in recent times it remains quite evident that the small cage has produced a higher number of finishes and greater contests.

Just to give you some perspective, the last fight night at the Apex produced six finishes in the first eight fights on the card. The fans clearly enjoy the small cage fights more. There is a lot more striking and of course, more content for the highlight reel as well. Something everyone is drawn to.
So in conversion about the difference in cage sizes, Dana White actually doesn’t seem to have a favorite. He answered an interviewer about this matter when asked, “I know you don’t like talking about the small cage big cage difference, but everyone has been loving these fights and is saying it’s got to be that cage!”
