Amidst a possible scenario of playing NBA games in the absence of fans, Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard felt it was best to leave the decision to the fans.
NBA seems to be the latest sports event affected in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak. NBA officials are looking to make a few changes in the league to safeguard against the coronavirus. Among the proposed changes includes playing in front of empty stands.
“I’m not sure, I’ve never done it. It will probably feel like a closed scrimmage,” Leonard said about playing without the presence of fans as per ESPN. “I’m not sure how the feel will be. It will be very different if it does come to that. Hopefully, the fans aren’t mad or whatever. So it’s up to them, I think we should just leave it up to the fans if they want to come to the games or not.”

A few sporting events around the world are currently taking place without the mass gathering of fans inside the stadium. The Spanish Football league is being played behind closed doors while the Italian football league is suspended altogether after a few games without fans.
While the NBA is yet to take a decision on it, a few players have voiced their opinion over playing in front of empty stands.

For Leonard’s teammate, Paul George, it didn’t make much difference as still had to do his job of playing basketball.
“The same like everybody else has a job to do, and they go out and they do their job,” George said. “If it is fans [in the arena], if it isn’t fans, again we got a job to do. We play ball, we hoop. And we’ll go with it.”
