One such star was none other than Vladimir Guerrero Jr., first baseman for the Toronto Blue Jays until an uncalled injury came into the scenario. Notably, Guerrero Jr. was all set to represent the Dominican Republic at the Classic tournament. 

The Blue Jays slugger was one of the most exciting stars suiting up for the competition following a great 2022 season. But the latest update on the Blue Jays star has left fans disappointed and upset.

Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. suffered a right knee injury during a recent Spring Training game. Luckily for the Blue Jays, the injury doesn’t seem too serious. But unluckily for baseball fans, he has pulled out of the World Baseball Classic. Guerrero Jr. was going to represent the Dominican Republic at the tournament but will now miss it. Fox Sports: MLB reported the news via Twitter. 

In a Tweet, Fox Sports: MLB said, “Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will no longer play in the World Baseball Classic due to his right knee injury. per @longleysunsport.” This is a huge blow for the Dominican Republic at first base.
