“He Reminds Me a Lot Of…”- Juan Soto Earns Comparisons to MLB Legend From Veteran San Diego Padres Teammate

Juan Soto is a name that baseball fans believe to dominate the coming generation of the sport. And why not? At such a young age of 24, the star slugger is already a World Series winner and Home Run Derby champion. Considering his immense potential, most recently, one of his San Diego Padres teammates heaped huge praise on Soto and compared him to an MLB legend. Notably, the 24-year-old was traded to the Padres midway through last season. He had a down year, but fans and analysts expect him to bounce back. 

Soto will be a key piece for the Padres moving forward as they aim to win a World Series title. Currently, with Manny Machado, Fernando Tatis Jr., and Xander Bogaerts in his company, baseball fans believe that they will be the ultimate core four to dominate the MLB world in the coming years. 

San Diego Padres veteran Nelson Cruz compares Juan Soto to Adrian Beltre

Juan Soto is one of MLB’s best young stars. At 24, he has achieved what many MLB players only dream of. Furthermore, he is extremely humble about his achievements and has a quiet personality. Most recently, his San Diego Padres teammate Nelson Cruz compared him to MLB legend Adrian Beltre. Cruz said that Soto is quiet but knows what to do on the field, much like Beltre. 97.3 The Fan shared the video of Cruz making the comparison on Twitter. 

In the video, Nelson Cruz said, “He reminds me a lot of Adrian Beltre. You know, the type of player that doesn’t talk much, he’s very quiet. But he knows what to do on the field.” This is a massive compliment as Cruz has compared Soto to a legend of the game. The Padres star is only 24 years old right now and in time could add numerous achievements to his name.

2023 is a big season for Soto and his team as they look poised to compete for the World Series. The young star will be looking to have a huge impact and has been training diligently this off-season. He likely wants to improve and get back to his best form.

Soto hit a slump in 2022

After being traded to the San Diego Padres, Juan Soto hit a slump. He was in poor form and looked nothing like his usual self. But towards the end of the season and during the postseason, he redeemed himself. 2023 will be big for Soto as he looks to get back his usual batting form and improve his fielding.
