Carlos Correa has had an eventful offseason, to say the least. After having a decent 2022 season, Correa was one of the biggest names available in free agency. It went as expected, as Correa agreed on a massive 13-year $350 million deal with the San Francisco Giants. But then that deal got canceled over medical concerns.

The World Champion then agreed to a 12-year $315 million deal with the New York Mets. But fast-forward a few days and that deal was in jeopardy as well. But luckily, Correa has been able to bring some normality back to his life and enjoyed celebrating the New Year.

While there have been no concrete updates on Correa’s contract, reports have stated that it is more likely that a deal will get done. The only question is what kind of deal the former Astros star will sign. Many fans have been left wondering what kind of issues have led to two teams having problems with Correa’s health.

Why has a deal with the Mets stalled?

The New York Mets are concerned over certain medical issues with Carlos Correa. According to MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo, the Mets are worried about Correa’s medical history. They are specifically worried about the arthroscopic surgery he underwent to repair a fractured right fibula in 2014. There is a belief that the All-Star may suffer a bad injury in the same region sometime down the road.
