Sometimes, doing the best is not enough. Creating yet another record does not mean that a team win is guaranteed. Well, this is what happened with LA Angels.

In their most recent game with the Oakland Athletics, they tied their own record by having seven home runs in a single game. But, this was not enough for the team to win, despite having Shohei ‘Shotime’ Ohtani on their team.

Another record made by LA Angels

By tying their single-game franchise record, the LA Angels made another record, which will get written in Major League Baseball’s history. Angels became the first team ever to score seven home runs in a single game without scoring any run.

Even after scoring seven home runs, the team could not secure a win against the Athletics. Of those seven home runs, two were scored by none other than the two-way phenom, Ohtani.

Also, the Angels had their longest losing streak of 14 games this season, which ended by defeating the Red Sox by 5-2. The win was significant because of Shohei Ohtani‘s two home runs, which did come in handy then.

“I had a couple chances to stop the losing streak on the mound, but I wasn’t able to do that,” said Ohtani through interpreter Ippei Mizuhara. “I was glad to be able to do it today.”

Ohtani’s two home runs helped break the franchise’s longest losing streak. But, two home runs in yesterday’s match were not enough to win.

They are getting mocked

Even though the team is breaking its record and still not winning, it is now getting mocked. Fans of the angels are not too happy about it either.

One of the fans talking about yesterday’s match said, “An absolute travesty.”

Others’ reactions to the game and to the team weren’t good either.

One of the fans said he’s going to become a Dodger’s fan now.

Just like this, many others are mocking the team for doing good and still not winning the game. One player can’t carry the game all by himself to make the team win every time.
