Commitment to a team can either go a long way or come back to haunt the player. But the Toronto Blue Jays designated hitter, Vladimir Guerrero Jr, hopes to commit to the Jays for the longest time possible. Having played only in four seasons of Major League Baseball, Guerrero Jr. has already become a franchise star. 

Only in four seasons, he is already a two times All-Star, one-time Silver Slugger winner, and AL MVP of the All-Star 2021. So far, Vlad has hit 104 home runs in the four seasons he played with the Blue Jays. 

A recent podcast of the first baseman in the Dominican Republic is now roaming the internet, showcasing the hostility of the slugger towards the New York Yankees. It is to note that a moment on the field prior to the postseason had led to becoming a source of mockery among the Yankee fans. 

What has Vladimir Guerrero Jr said about the Yankees?

Till the 2025 season, Guerrero Jr is set to stay with the Toronto Blue Jays. However, after 2025, he will be a free agent. He will be open to going to whichever team he wants and for however long he wants to. But one team where for sure he won’t be going to is the New York Yankees. 

In a recent Dominican Republic podcast, he shared his opinions on how he would love to play in New York only to kill the Pinstripers. “I like to play in New York, I like to kill the Yankees. I would never sign with the Yankees, not even dead,” said the slugger in Spanish.
