No matter the kind, overcoming addiction is not an easy task. Trying to remain sober is difficult as it is, and to actually remain sober for a year or many is an achievement in itself. Former teammate of Derek Jeter and World Series Champion, CC Sabathia, is one of those people who fought and conquered an addiction.

Sabathia has played 19 seasons in Major League Baseball, most of which were for the New York Yankees. In the first year of getting traded to the Pinstripes, the left-handed player helped his team win a World Series in 2009. Not only this, but Sabathia played the second half of the 2008 season with the Brewers and helped the team into the playoffs for the first time in twenty-six years.

Therefore, Sabathia took to Twitter to post a picture of him and his family, to celebrate the achievement, and wrote“Blessed to celebrate 7 years of sobriety to this day.
