What a lead the ‘Answerbacks’ made! Game 2 was lopsided right from the start, but the lead that the Arizona Diamondbacks took does absolute justice to their moniker. Known for their recently developed ‘right-back-at-you’ attitude, the D-Backs got the win in Arlington, Texas. But what’s a stunning nugget of this World Series saga is the pillar-like trio of the Snakes.
The shining stars of the series-tying battle against the Texas Rangers were Merrill Kelly, Corbin Carroll, and Ketel Marte. Saturday night saw Ketel Marte increase his record-breaking playoff-hitting streak to 18 games. While Merrill Kelly threw a three-hit ball game over the seven-inning, displaying a commendable clutch quality. Additionally, Corbin Carroll made a pair of RBI singles. That said, the current state of the Fall Classic is one game apiece.

At the bottom of the 6th inning, the win seemed apparent for the rattlesnakes. The D-Backs starter Kelly held the Rangers to 1 run in 5 innings with only 59 pitches. With Corbin Carroll’s one-out triple to center field, the rookie phenom pushed the team to a sure-shot unbeatable position in the game.

The camaraderie of Marte with Carroll as the former hit a sharp ground ball to first base was stunning. With that, the D-Backs’ right fielder sped, allowing him to score and give his team a 3-2 lead. With a 9-1 win for Arizona, Game 3 will take place on Monday night in Chase Field.
