Hollywood superstar Minka Kelly has been a household name in the industry for over two decades now. An actress known for her gritty roles as well as superhero characters, Kelly can do it all. And as is the case with most celebrities, her personal life has been the subject of much media attention. Among her many famous beaus, like Trevor Noah, John Legend, and Chris Evans, there was also MLB legend Derek Jeter.

During 2008-2011, Kelly made many appearances with Jeter, who was known to be tight-lipped with the media. But even so, the love the couple had for each other was evident. After all, some reports say the two almost tied the knot. Now, of course, Jeter is married to supermodel Hannah Davis. Over the years, Jeter and Kelly have rarely spoken about each other. And they apparently want to continue to do so; in Kelly’s recent memoir that tells all, there is nary a mention of the former Yankee.

As she discusses her romantic relationships, Rudy, her high school boyfriend, makes a major appearance. But the starring feature of the gloomy saga is a different partner, and it’s not Derek Jeter.

The show that skyrocketed Kelly to stardom was Friday Night Lights, and her relationship with co-star Talor Kitsch has been well documented. The two had an on-again-off-again kind of affair, which Kelly said turned toxic after a time. Later that decade, when she got together with Jeter, the actress had mostly good things to say about him.

And yet, the fact of the matter is, her autobiography fails to mention it. After all, Kitsch was probably the person who helped shape her in some ways because she met him at such a young age. Jeter’s influence possibly wasn’t as palpable. And as the book blurb reads, Kelly’s aim was to discuss how she overcame adversity in her life to reach where she is today, and the former ballplayer was not a part of that journey.

Before acting, Kelly was studying medicine

After somehow graduating from high school, the Euphoria actress writes, she started studying medicine and acting side by side. When she got her big break as Lyla Garrity, that was it. If one were to ask her fans, it was a good decision to give up medicine.
