On Tuesday night, he made a surprise appearance on the YES Network broadcast. What he said, certainly gave fans some relief.

In fact, he even consulted with Dr. Neal ElAttrache who advised him not to throw for the next three to four weeks. But all’s well that ends well. The Cy Young Award winner assured that “Everything is coming along smoothly”.

For someone who has barely made it to the IL, this marked Cole’s first stint on the injured list. The reigning AL Cy Young winner did not shy away from sharing details of his unique rehab program. For a start, he said, “You build it from all the different vulnerable positions.” With that, he further went on to explain to David Cone, the broadcaster.

Turns out that rebuilding arm strength is far beyond just throwing baseballs. Cole detailed that his program targets specific arm positions. The purpose of that is to progressively build strength which then leads to incorporating dynamic movements.

Everything seems to be going well so far.”  This revelation is a welcome relief for the Yankees faithful who are eager to see their ace back.
