Although Jeter has become quite skilled at golf over the years, the former Yankee once admitted that he used to be terrible at the sport. Despite this, Jeter always manages to bring a sense of fun and playfulness to the course, even surprising himself and others will a hole-in-one shot. However, the ace in question was not actually a hole-in-one, but something else entirely!

Derek Jeter had the golf buzzing when a video surfaced of him hitting what appeared to be a hole-in-one on the course. Fans marveled at the idea that Jeter’s baseball skills had translated to the golf course. However, as it turns out, the video was not quite what it seemed.

In an Instagram post, Jeter’s sister Sharlee, back in 2016, shared a video of the shot and Jeter’s group’s eruption of cheers. The caption hinted at something amiss, reading “Love my job!!! Hole in one by Derek Jeter… or is it?”

During the interview with Seth Meyers, Jeter revealed the truth behind the video. He explained that he and his group were being followed by a video crew for the tournament and that he had suggested to his group that they play along and act like his shot was a hole-in-one, even though it wasn’t. He added that it was the best shot he hit all day.

When asked by Meyers if he admitted it was not a hole-in-one, Jeter playfully responded, “I didn’t say that.” keeping the playful moment alive.

Recently, the turn 2 official Instagram page gave a timeline of the next golf tournament hosted by Derek Jeter. The invitational will be taking place from 11th May to 13th May at the Baha Mar resorts in Nassau, the Bahamas.

Throughout the years, it has raised millions of dollars to support the foundation’s mission. It’s a great way to see some of the greatest athletes come together and give back to the community.
