The MLB 2023 season has been a disappointing affair for many teams and players. It also includes the former New York Mets star, Max Scherzer. The 8x All-Star failed to perform up to the expectations, especially after being a big contract of $130 million. It eventually led to his trade with the Texas Rangers. Given his experience, the move looks good, but Scherzer’s problematic pitching changed the situation. And another incident has added more to his woes.

Injury to Max Scherzer Complicates Season for Him

The season has not been kind to the 3× Cy Young Award. And because of it, even on the best day, he found less support from the fans. Notably, Scherzer exited the game and could only pitch for five innings. He left the pitch after experiencing some discomfort. MLB stated that “Max Scherzer exited tonight’s game with an apparent injury after throwing a pitch.” Though nothing is clear about his injury, reports suggest that he faced discomfort in his right triceps. He will go under an MRI to ascertain the exact nature of the injury.

However, given his injury, the injury could take time to heal and could limit Scherzer’s time on the mound. And if it happens, it will be a setback for him. Although there is a drop in performances in the former Mets. But he has done a decent for the Rangers with 53 strikeouts in 8 starts at an ERA of 3.20 and WHIP of 0.90. And as playoffs are just weeks away, Scherzer would not like to miss them. But it seems fans feel otherwise.
