Alex Rodriguez, the true epitome of the American Dream

Notably, A-Rod’s father abandoned his family at a very early age. Consequently, his mother, Lourdes Rodriguez, started working two shifts a day to make ends meet. However, young A-Rod failed to accept his father’s reality. While talking about that, he once said, “After a while, I lied to myself.”

A-Rod continued to talk about his father’s absence, and how it affected him. He said, “I tried to tell myself that it didn’t matter, that I didn’t care. But times I was alone, I often cried. Where was my father? To this day, I still can’t get close to people.”

Eventually, in 1994, A-Rod made his MLB debut for the Seattle Mariners at the young age of 18 years. He also became the youngest debutant in Seattle’s history.

A-Rod’s second innings

After Alex Rodriguez proved his abilities as a shortstop with the Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers, he moved to the New York Yankees for the most worthwhile part of his career. In 2016, after a 22-year-long baseball career, A-Rod hung up his MLB boots and moved to pursue his career in the world of business.

Today, Alex Rodriguez is a respected and well-achieved business mogul who has fashioned his own empire in the world of real estate through A-Rod Corp. In addition to that, today, he’s also the chairperson of Presidente Beer and part owner of the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves.

While pursuing his career in the investing world, A-Rod started analyzing and calling games for ESPN and Fox. Today, he’s calling the postseason alongside Kevin Burkhardt, Frank Thomas, and former rival, David Ortiz.
