Derek Jeter is excited to return to the Bronx

After retiring in 2014, Jeter has gone back to Yankee Stadium quite a few times. Those times included going for the 96′ reunion and recently when they had a premiere for Jeter’s documentary, ‘The Captain.’

Coming back to the stadium tonight for him is “Exciting. I’m looking forward to sharing it with my kids because they were never there when I played.”

The celebration is long awaited in the Hall of Famer’s honor and is about to begin pretty soon.

The shortstop got inducted into the Hall of Fame in the year 2020. But the celebration of his induction got postponed for a year from the pandemic going on at the time.

A year later, when Cooperstown finally welcomed Derek Jeter, the ceremony was not as big as it should have been.

Therefore, today exactly, a year and a day after his actual induction, Derek Jeter is going to receive the celebration that he deserves. The Bronx will be offering a proper ceremony. And the athlete will get honored before the Yankees and Rays game tonight.
