‘It’s Early in Process’’- NY Yankees Emerge as Potential Landing Spot for Nationals All-Star ‘Generational Talent’ Juan Soto

The MLB trade deadline is still over a week away. And given the current situation, the New York Yankees are emerging as the favorite team to land the Washington Nationals All-Star outfielder Juan Soto. There is still an entire second half to play this season, and getting Soto on their side, the Yankees will only strengthen their already strong squad.
Ever since the All-Star break, things are not good between the Nationals and Soto. Notably, the 2022 Home Run Derby champ turned down a long-term contract offer from the Nationals before the All-Star break. And the Nationals did not like this attitude of their marquee player, so they reportedly did not charter a plane for Soto to take part in the Home Run Derby.

Since then, the relationship between the two parties has not been the same. And if reports are true, then the Nationals might be ready to trade Soto for good. Because there is no point in keeping a player against his will.
Can the Yankees sign Juan Soto before the MLB trade deadline?
To land Juan Soto in the Bronx, the involvement of the Nationals, Yankees, Soto, and his agent Scott Boras on the same page is a must. Because the Nationals will not be willing to let go of a generational talent so easily. They will make it as hard as possible for the Yankees to get Soto and mint maximum money from the trade.
Soto’s current contract will expire in the 2025 season. And considering he is only 22 years old, any team will welcome a player as good as Juan Soto.
